About the Vacancy
Are you looking to work in a dynamic, professional, yet supportive purchasing environment? Then read on. Due to continued business wins our market leading retail client requires a buyer to join their large purchasing team.
This is a unique opportunity to join a vibrant team, sourcing a wide product range from worldwide suppliers (however there is a heavy bias on Far Eastern supplier base) You will be working closely with the purchasing manager on multiple projects including client and supplier meetings, NPD, sourcing, quoting and negotiation. This is a highly commercial role where you need to have the ability to identify and research product opportunities which are highly saleable. You will need to be results driven and thrive in a fast paced environment, where you will often be working to tight deadlines.
To be considered you will need to have some buying experience ideally within a retail or distributor environment (however candidates from a sales coordination, account management, purchasing assistant, buying administration will be considered if can show quoting, negotiation and new product development skills). You must have the ability to nourish, evaluate and develop existing and potential suppliers to ensure best value and performance levels. In addition you need the commercial understanding to deliver cost reduction and revenue maximisation. IT skills are a must and you will be proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel.
