Permanent Supply Chain & Purchasing position in Burnley

Pay: £17,000/year

About the Vacancy

Our manufacturing client requires a scheduler / planner to join their busy purchasing department. The key objective of the role is to schedule the delivery of packaging for the company to support the production plan with minimum disruption.

If successful you will be tasked with the following responsibilities;

  • Scheduling of packaging (i.e. printed labels, film and handles) with appropriate suppliers in line with SAP demand, lead time, risk, min/max order levels and supplier contracts.
  • Provide weekly forecasts and call offs for specified suppliers.
  • Monitor packaging stocks daily, including aged stock held at suppliers.
  • Manage stock in line with contract pack customer requirements, and supply specific information relating to those accounts such as stock information.
  • Ensure any overdue deliveries are dealt with in a timely manner; liaise with Goods Inwards regarding deliveries.
  • Monitor supplier performance with regard to on time deliveries and issues with supply.
  • Monitor minimum order quantities, delivery frequency, stock holdings and recommend changes as appropriate
  • Monitor de-lists and run outs with suppliers, planning and account managers. 
  • Monitor packaging design changes with supplier, planning, marketing and account managers.
  • Prepare disposal forms in line with reported write off figures.
  • Use SAP in line with Bills of Materials (BOM) changes in line with suppliers, planning and production and in line with stock run outs and launch forecasts.

To be considered for the role you must be a natural problem solver with the ability to work to tight timescales in a demanding and pressurised environment. It is essential you are numerate and analytical with exceptional IT skills including Excel and Word (ideally SAP, but NOT essential).
