About the Vacancy

We are looking for an experienced Risk Manager to head up the Risk department of a leading North West firm of Solicitors. The role reports to the Chairman and is a newly created role encompassing all aspects of operational compliance and risk within the firm.   The role will incorporate the following key areas; 
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant bodies – SRA, LSC etc
  • Devising an Audit/Risk programme for all the offices
  • Managing the production of Management Information to facilitate the monitoring of key risks
  • Conducting awareness training to aid the identification, assessment, management and recording of risks at all levels.
  • Maintaining operational risk incident reporting processes
  • Conducting yearly and emergency audits
  • Reporting to the board
  • Developing and delivering risk training and awareness programmes
  • Providing advice to the Fee earners on professional conduct
  To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will need to be an effective communicator at all levels and have the highest standard of presentation skills. A large part of this role will be in extracting information from the business and re-presenting this information to senior management. As such, self-confidence, persuasion skills and a high level of credibility will all be factors affecting to your ability to perform in this role. The successful candidate will have experience of implementing operational risk frameworks or have worked on an embedded framework, ideally in a Legal environment.As it is a newly created function you will be given the opportunity to have influence of the way the business grows and convert ideas and concepts into real business opportunities.
