About the Vacancy
We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join a company that specialises in Fire Sprinkler/Protection systems. This role is not simply a design role; it involves full project management from the initial requirement right through to installation. As such requires a strong designer who also has good customer service skills and the ability to oversee full projects. The successful applicant will be visiting customers on-site, on a nationwide basis, in order to effectively plan the systems in regards to all areas including design and installation. You will then return to the office and design the sprinkler system from concept to final product using AUTOCAD 2004. Your duties and responsibilities will include; Designing sprinkler systemsArranging with suppliers what materials are required for the projectQuoting the customer on the costs involved Arranging sub contractor labour for the installation of the sprinkler systemsVisiting site every couple of days to oversee the project and ensure that it is running to budget and on time.Efficient product development Dependant on location there will be some over night stays required with hotel and travel expenses paid for by the company. Working hours are 40 hours per week but there is the occasional requirement for overtime and nights depending on the scale of the project.
