Due to restructure a unique opportunity has arisen for a Junior Buyer / Purchasing Assistant within this busy purchasing team.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this role will primarily be responsible for the purchasing of products and materials from suppliers based within UK and Europe. Within established policies and procedures, this role will be responsible for analysing and determining the best source of supply, identifying correct material/products, and managing the purchasing process.

Key responsibilities involve the need to;

• Analyse and negotiate acceptable prices, schedules, terms and conditions.
• Develop, prepare, review and authorise purchase orders within designated approval limit.
• Process all paperwork related to purchase order revisions.
• Administer and review purchase orders; verify receipt; and resolve discrepancies/problems regarding price, delivery or quality with internal customers and suppliers.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier compliance with cost, quality and schedule requirements.
• Challenge existing processes and offer innovative alternatives that benefit the business.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers

You must have strong IT skills as well as proven experience which demonstrates pro-activity, attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks well. It is essential you have great communication skills with the ability to work as part of team to deliver maximum team benefits and the willingness to continue training and development of self to enhance personal performance.

Ideally you will have a previous experience working within a purchasing environment, but applications will be accepted from applicants with a real passion for carving a career purchasing.
